Letter: A Good, but Overdue, Question
A recent editorial included a quote from Rep. Louise Slaughter in reference to a vote on the lawsuit of President Obama: "How much will this cost, and where will we get the money?"
I realize this was politics but where has this question been? Why are we not hearing this question constantly?
Every elected official at every level of government should be asking this question prior to every vote on spending.
Our elected officials are doing a terrible disservice to our kids and grandkids by running our federal government on "borrowed money." Irresponsible money management via spending money we do not have is irresponsible.
Asking the question "how much will this cost, and where will we get the money" should be asked at every government agency by all responsible elected officials.
