Rochester, N.Y. Congresswoman Louise Slaughter is pushing for more to be done to prevent antibiotic-resistant superbugs.
Slaughter is featured in the film “Resistance” for her work in Congress to curtail the use of antibiotics in healthy livestock.
According to experts, overusing antibiotics on farms causes bacteria to mutate and become resistant.
The film was screened Thursday at RIT, where Congresswoman Slaughter was part of a discussion panel.
