Affordable Housing Gets Federal FundsBuffalo News By Buffalo News Staff Seven new affordable housing projects in Western New York, including four in Buffalo, will be partially funded by a $1.2 million grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York. Through the bank’s Affordable Housing Program, 135 new units of housing will be developed in Buffalo and a total of 83 units will be built for projects in Geneseo, Amherst and Rochester. The program helps finance housing projects for moderate and low-income households. Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-Fairport, said the grants would play a “vital” role in the economies of Buffalo and Rochester. |
