$615,000 in Research Grants for University of Rochester

Funds Awarded for Various Research Projects

Washington, DC – Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (D-Fairport), Ranking Member of the House Rules Committee, is pleased to announce that the University of Rochester is set to receive three separate grants for a combined total of $615,000. Two grants were awarded from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the third was awarded from the National Cancer Institute.

The grants will help fund research efforts at the University related to neurological disorders and cancer biology research.

“This is another great opportunity for the University of Rochester and for clinical research in general,” Rep. Slaughter commented. She continued, “I hope these well deserved grants will reinforce the University’s important role in research and advance our overall position within the local scientific community.”
