Instead of just watching as other countries invest in renewable energy, America should be doing everything we can to be the leader in development of alternative energy. If we seize this opportunity, we can reduce our dependence on foreign oil, create good jobs, and protect our environment.

Louise is working to support local businesses that are innovating and advancing green technologies. She helps companies in and around the Rochester region cut through red tape so they can worry about innovating and creating jobs – not government bureaucracy. In 2014, Louise announced more than $1.2 million in public and private funding to help innovative energy companies at Eastman Business Park get their technologies ready for commercial markets. Louise also introduced the Green Bank Act to help green energy companies get access to capital to grow their businesses and create jobs.

Louise secured $2 million in funding from the US Department of Energy for OLEDWorks of Rochester, which will support development of energy technologies in our region.
Louise also helped secure a $450,000 grant from the US Department of Energy for Rochester’s Intrinsiq Materials, a leader in nanotechnology. The company will develop and market an innovative solar technology that will help make solar power more affordable.
